When you admire one of Sam Orlando Miller’s mirrors, expect to be dazzled by the shifting nuances of bold colors and to be intrigued by the elusive patterns and unconventional forms, but do not expect to see anything that resembles a conventional mirror. These faceted sculptural pieces distort reflections, giving the onlooker only a mysterious and elusive glimpse of themselves.
A sculptor and painter based in both London and Le Marche, it is easy to see that Sam Orlando Miller is fascinated by intriguing and uncommon forms. Each piece takes on a life of its own, a result of Sam’s fundamental approach to his work: to make everything entirely with his own hands. These jewel-like oblong mirrors are hand-patinated and antiqued, paired with unexpected materials, such as bronze frames or steel ellipses.
Sam Orlando Miller is commissioned by UK and international clients for design projects, furniture and installations. His mirrors and other works are currently being exhibited at the Fumi Gallery in London.
